Bill of Materials (BoM) Description Enhancement

In SAP Business One version 10, there is an enhancement in Product Description in the Bill of Materials. Prior to SAP Business One version 10, when you already had a Bill of Material for an item, after some time you wanted to update the Item description in the Item Master Data, the description that was created did not change in the Bill of Material. However, because of SAP Business One version 10, you don’t need to worry anymore. When you update the Item description in the Item Master Data, if the item is connected to a Bill of Material parent item, it will automatically replace the Product description in the Bill of Material.

Let see the example below:

You want to change the Description of product S10000

When you change and update the Item Description in the Item Master Data, there will be a pop-up message that said:

• If you choose No, then the Product Description on the Bill of Materials will remain the same.
• If you choose Yes, the Product Description on the Bill of Materials will be updated according to the Description in the Item Master Data. Then if you see the BOM again, the Product Description will be updated.

Note: This feature only available in SAP Business One 10.
